The service is at best poor and occasionally dreadful and really lets down Thanet. Not everyone can afford the high-speed train or wants to finish up at St Pancras but the traditional service has been deliberately slowed down to make the high-speed seem better, and to add insult to injury, fares on the traditional service have been much increased to contribute to the cost of the high-speed.
