Fires, seem to be the blight on this place. i am sure another empty building got burnt. Oh yes the old fort hotel which is now apartments in Temerair Court.
I hope no one was hurt etc.
Which buildings were they, any significance lost???
No one was hurt, just some new plants in the Gardens where people trampled them to get a better view of the fire. The buildings were part of the Warren Court Hotel, which has been empty for 5yrs. I've never hear Margate called the Arsonists Playground. Lets put Thanet up not down. JaC
I think the term arsonists playground might be referring to the large number of fires in past years that have created development opportunities from old hotels.

The buildings are next to what seems to be a derelict guest house with a danger sign on it. Obviously now an opportunity ideal for development. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNot for nothing is Margate called the Arsonists' Playground.
