Margate's launch celebration at Turner Contemporary for GEEK 2013 on February 21st



On Thursday 21 February there will be  two special events as part of Margate's GEEK 2013 gaming festival (21 - 24 February).

At 3pm, engineer and cartoonist Tim Hunkin (tickets £6) gives a talk about the amusement arcade at Turner Contemporary, then join the GEEK launch evening in Margate Old Town from 6 to 9pm. 

GEEK is an extravaganza of fun and games. During February half term (21 - 24 February ) the Winter Gardens in Margate will be filled with puzzles, tournaments, consoles and pinball machines. There will be retro computer games and current card and computer games as well as lots to make and do. Other venues in Margate are also hosting GEEK events, including Turner Contemporary.


 

Punch the Custard
GEEK preview event, Margate Old Town 21 Feb 6 - 9pmDesigned by George Buckenham, players have to punch a bowl of custard against the clock; punch it just right and the (perfectly ordinary) custard bounces your hand back as though it's a hard surface.
