Margate's Indian Princess Becomes Ambrette

I had held off from discussing it online, but it seems ECR has beat me to it. So Margate's The Indian Princess restaurant has become the Ambrette. I'm a bit old fashioned and name changes take a while for me to get used to. So will reserve judgement to see how it goes. But hey, I'm fast becoming an old fogey!

The Reading Rooms Boutique Bed & Breakfast in today's Guardian

Nice review by The Guardian's Sally Shalam on The Reading Rooms boutique bed and breakfast. She's bothered to do her historical research, which makes a real change for journos comiung to Margate. She goes into detail on the history of Hawley Square and the surrounding area gives a nice heads up to the Theatre Royal and The Indian Princess restaurant.

Indian Princess Review

Well deserved and enthusiastic review of The Indian Princess restaurant in Margate. We're really pleased to hear that finally they're waiting to hear if they have been awarded a Michellin star or not. The review from Kent Life however, seems a bit OTT with its description of the physicality of the owner, Dev:

"the impossibly handsome chef owner, Dev Biswal, who is straight out of a Bollywood movie – all gleaming white teeth and lustrous black locks."

Favourite places / The Indian Princess restaurant

Had another wonderful meal here on Saturday. It is quite simply my favourite restaurant in Margate, if not the area as a whole. The care that is lavished on the dishes shines through. Gourmet indian cuisine in a converted 18th century coach house, with home ground spices, an interesting and changing menu and simply lovely staff. This would be a restaurant I'd be proud to go to in London, so the fact it's on my doorstep where I live is a real treat.
