Nice article in the Guardian on Margate's application for the Nayland Rock shelter overlooking the main sands to be granted listed status, where the author TS Eliot composed some of his works.
What a brilliant move!
I remember a few years back when they spent £200,000 renovating it. Just a week or two after it was finished I saw a drunk bloke laying on the pavement in my road (just round the corner from the shelter), swearing at children & too drunk to stand up, so I called the police: They helped him get up, & then told him to go & sleep it off under the shelter...
