The London Pie'n'Mash shop coming soon

Very pleased to see a specialist food shop coming to the Old Town that really fits with Margate's heritage. It's due to open next week on March 11th in the shop that was previously the barber's that closed before Christmas. The shop will be baking their own pies at a friend's shop in London. I look forward to sampling some tasty pies and hope we will see more of this type of shop opening in Old Town.

  1. Sounds great, is it going to be a takeaway or is it sit down.
On a historical point it will be great to have a revival of London traditions in the old town.

  2. Hi Tony,

Not sure. It might have a small number of seats. It's not a big shop, but casting my mind back to when I peeped in the door last week while they were fitting it out, I think there might be room for seats.

  6. Although I've been in this part of Kent for over half of my 46 years, I was born & raised in the South London Old Kent Road / Peckham / Elephant & Castle area, & this was a REAL treat as a kid! Wonderful to have such unpretentious food available again in Thanet.

I know another shop opened in Ramsgate recently (though I haven't been in there yet), is the Margate shop run by the same people?
