There was a big fire on Northdown Road tonight. In an arcade three doors down from Lovelys and two doors from the scooter shop. I'll post pictures tomorrow. It took a long time for the fire crew to get through the security shutters. When we left the scene the fire had spread to next door. I hope that it has been brought under control.
These arcades, eh. Very fire prone.
I was watching it about an hour ago whilst drinking my pineapple juice. I was walking back from St. Peter's and saw it over the rooftops and fields. From a distance I actually thought it was the Lido, which wouldnt surprise me. When I finally got to where it was it looked like the Trophy Shop in Northdown Road, a few doors down from the Arcade (Time Tunnel?). Looks like the building where it was going on had lots of scaffolding over it. There was also a tall, blonde police woman guarding the police tape. She looked supreme.
ReplyDeleteGot any photos of the police woman?
ReplyDeletearr thanku for resolving that! i was in my garden (in cliftonville) in the early hours this morn n saw the white cloud rising somewhre near by, it was quite a magical and spectacular sight, it was growing amongst the houses shiloette on the skyline..
ReplyDeletenow i know what it was :) thanku xxx
Apparently Kent Motorcycles copped it too.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I don't have any photos as my phone ran out of battery whilst on the night out. Also, taking a picture of a police officer without their permission consitutes terrorism, although taking pictures of the general public with CCTV apparently doesn't...
ReplyDeletecan any one say for sure wether kmc has been affected?
ReplyDeleteWell said Mike - about the camera surveillance etc...
ReplyDeleteWas driving down Northdown and saw all the fire engins this afternoon. I turned off to save all the hassle of reversing and being caught up in traffic.
ReplyDeleteNow according to my dad, there is a diversion their, the road is barricaded. Is Kent Motor Cycle ok??? Any new developments????
